Michael Burke’s experience as a Veterinary Surgeon provided the company in its “start up” phase with insight knowledge into what was required to improve the level of service in the Irish veterinary market. A “24 hour” delivery service was introduced, which most distributors have since emulated. Following the company’s initial success in distribution to the veterinary market, a manufacturing operation was established. Chanelle Veterinary is now ranked as one of Ireland’s leading wholesalers.

 

Chanelle Veterinary stocks over 5,000 product ranges dispatches 95,000 parcels and 1,200 pallets a year to Vets, Merchants and Co-ops throughout Ireland from a brand new purpose built 50,000 sq ft warehouse.

Chanelle Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Limited (CPML) - founded 1985

 

Established to develop and manufacture a range of quality veterinary products that were no longer under patent. Chanelle Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Limited is a licensed manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceutical products and as such conforms to standards laid down by the European Community.

 

CPML manufactures tablets, powders, sachets, capsules and liquids and offers a complete contract manufacturing and contract packaging service.  It also offers assistance in regulatory affairs and the completion of registration dossiers and is the largest Veterinary Pharmaceutical manufacturer in Ireland with its own in-house Research & Development team

 

Chanelle's first products were developed in conjunction with experts in Universities, such as University College Galway (NUIG), University College Dublin (NUID), Trinity College, Stormont, Cambridge, Missouri and Huntingdon. The company has now established its own product development team, along with an experienced registration department. However, the company still liaises closely with universities and veterinary laboratories throughout the world and employs graduates within Research and Development, Registration, Production, Quality Assurance and Sales & Marketing.

 

Chanelle Provet - founded 1991

 

This company was launched in 1991 – a joint venture distribution company with 107 Veterinary Surgeons, selling pharmaceuticals and related equipment exclusively to Veterinary Surgeons in the Republic of Ireland. This strategy cemented a mutual & beneficial partnership and secured loyalty from the veterinary profession.  The company operates from the Chanelle Veterinary premises in Loughrea.

 

Chanelle Animal Health Limited (UK) - founded 1994

 

A U.K. based Distribution Company formed in 1994 to sell veterinary pharmaceuticals to the UK market. The customer base consists of a combination of over 140 Merchants & Co-Operatives. Chanelle has 21 products registered in the U.K. market and three Area Sales Managers.

Chanelle Medical - founded 2000

 

The existing manufacturing facility (CPML), facilitated the Chanelle Group’s diversification into the development and manufacture of human generic pharmaceutical products in 2000.

 

The company manufactures an extensive range of product, including tablets, powder, capsules and liquid and is licensed by the Irish Medicines Board. Chanelle Medical’s range of services also include blister packing, sachet filling, strip packaging and cold forming in addition to standard packing facilities to accommodate customers packaging requirements.

 

Chanelle Medical along with CPML manufacture products in a 60,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. The state of the art production facility offers the capacity to manufacture up to two billion tablets and three billion capsules per annum.

 

Chanelle Medical offers a complete contract manufacturing and contract packaging service. Coupled with this, Chanelle is also developing several products and can offer assistance in regulatory affairs and the completion of registration dossiers.

Chanelle Pet Accessories - founded 2003

 

In 2003 the Chanelle Group began sourcing and selling Pet Accessories to their Chanelle Veterinary customers.  The goal is to offer a wide range of quality of pet products so that we will be a one-stop-shop for pet stores, vets and co-ops. 

 

Chanelle has distribution contracts for some of the best known brands in the industry:

Chanelle has their own range of branded accessories and is the exclusive supplier and distributor of ISPCA pet accessories.  As well as accessories Chanelle also manufactures and sells wormers and flea control products for pets. 

 

Chanelle VET (UK) Ltd – founded 2008

 

Chanelle Animal Health UK has been in operation in the UK since 1994 selling large animal products to co-ops and merchants throughout the UK, Scotland and Wales.  With the continuing success of Chanelle Animal Health and the expansion of Chanelle’s small animal generic dossiers the next logical step was to target the veterinary practices in the UK with small animal pharmaceuticals

Chanelle already had several well know brands on the market in the UK such as Clinacin (Clindamycin), Chanazine (Xylazine) 2% and 10%  and Canidryl (Carprofen).

 

The launch of Chanelle Vet UK in February 2008 coincided with the launch of Chanelle’s own Rheumocam (Meloxicam Liquid) along with Banacep vet (Benazepril) and Medetor (Medetomidine), and with several other products in the pipeline.
